To summarise the qualitative and quantitative research, Qualitative research is a kind of research that using number datas to do projects and quantitative is usually face to face, such as interview to get data.
The strength of qualitative research is we can easily to see the distance of the data, it is as number we know 1 is the smallest and 100 is the largest , we can see which is the best and worse. However, the weakness it just show the numbers not the real words and the numbers can easily to build up without any evidences.
The strength of quantitative research is an interview with words with let others to know the details of the projects, it is because in interview you can ask more details in words and longer, not just numbers. Numbers don't have any feelings.
Also, the weakness of quantitative search is it hard to find many people to get interview with you and maybe you will get influence by your personal bias.
To me, i prefer to choose quantitative research because i would like to listen more people on they think on that culture. I do not mean that qualitative is that bad, just because i think numbers is too easily to make it, a little bit fake feelings.
Here i want to talk about my research project, i want to talk about using sneakers to see the speculation culture in Hong Kong , as i am working in some sporting brand before and start to get attention in sneakers, i have look out that that is a weird culture. That is the people usually use sneakers to be a goods and make up the price and sell in the internet. The point is not just some specific crossover shoes, is just some normal shoes the shops will make higher the price and still many people buy it.
The hottest place selling Instagram and there is a few shops that already open the real shops. I would like to see why the speculation is so hot in Hong Kong and why the people see those high price shoes will still buy it.
I decide to use quantitative research to do my research because i think i would i like to listen to them why they accept to those high price and buy it and want to know about how do they think this culture in Hong Kong. Qualitative research not suitable for me because i am not doing a large numbers people of research, i think i just want to focus on some people. If all using numbers cannot show on why they accept to those high price and buy it.

Dear Jodi, The arguments in the discussion of quantitative research methods are proper though the presentation can be improved. Please note that data collected from qualitative research methods can inform researchers of the "feelings" of informants. What and how they talk are the focus and need to be analysed by researcher who needs to point out what he thinks the "feelings" are not true and provide evidence if necessary. Why "fake feelings" are made up? This would also be the focus of analysis. The research question is not recommended. It is interesting but is more about marketing rather than media and culture. I am afraid that you may need to think of another one which suits the aim of the class better.
