Writer: Christopher Smith (2012)
Summary:
Christopher said that he don't like or care Korean pop music very much when he first stay in Korea. He think Korean pop music was silly and childish, this would be a time wasting activity for care about it. But time goes by, he started to know about the Korean culture and he get to know about Korean pop music. He knows that Korean idols need to have a long time training then they can debut, so Christopher start get into Korean pop music. He first get to know about the three big entertainment company "SM", "YG" and "JYP". He know that different company's idol group or singer have different style. Then he notice that the MV and the dance for every songs are also important, these may be the reasons that why Korean pop music would be so popular all over the world. Besides, many Korean pop music use English to be the choruses part so different city or different country can know the meaning easily and they can sing together easily. Final, Christopher said that one of the important part for the success of Korean pop music is the outlook of the idols. Male idols look handsome, female idols look pretty and cute. This can attract many people to keep paying attention to Korean pop music.
For my research, I decide to interview 4 people as to compare the view on Korean pop music and local pop music. I will find two male and two female to have in-depth interviews first, the questionnaire will be lay up as I think the in-depth interview can get enough informations that I need for the research. For each male and female, I hope to find out why Korean pop music would be so famous for a period of time and that teenagers would like to consume on it. Also, I hope I can find out the reason for teenagers like to consume on Korean pop music rather than local pop music. For my interview, I will first ask them "When is the first time that they get into Korean pop music? And how?". I think this question can help to let the interviewees to start the interview and start talking to this topic. Then I will ask them why they still keep attend on Korean pop music, and why don't they pay attend on local pop music.etc.

Dear Harry, The article that your reviewed is good for your study. What you need to do is to find a theoretical framework for analysis now. As per our meeting, please read the article about encoding/decoding model written by Stuart Hall and turn it to your primary framework. Otherwise, the theoretical discussion could be weak in the final product.
